I am exceeding happy to announce that our Charity for 2026 is the Brighton, Hove & West Sussex Deaf Children’s Society (BHWSDCS).
In 1998 my son Robert was born and by 11 weeks old he had his first set of hearing aids and we were told he had a profound hearing loss. Having always been proactive rather than reactive I turned myself into a ‘don’t mess with this Mum!’ and I helped set-up the Charity – which is affiliated to the National Deaf Children’s Society.
To date, there are approximately 340 children in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove who have some level of hearing loss. Although there are three Special Support Centres for profoundly deaf primary school children, three secondary schools and one specialist school there are still around 250 hearing impaired children in mainstream school. Many of these mainstream children are the only one in their school with the additional ‘superpower’ – a word often used to encourage the children to not feel discriminated.
Brighton, Hove & West Sussex Deaf Children’s Society work hard to reach out to all children with hearing loss in our County. Money raised will be used to organise trips to the pantomime, an annual week’s holiday for families, Sign Language lessons for their families, Carol Signing at several venues throughout the area.

We desperately need Stewards for our 2026 Meets.
WSDA pride themselves that we can depend on our wonderful fellow campers and friends to support our Meets. This year we have struggled to get Stewards to meet and greet at our Meets, and we are now asking you to please consider being a Steward or even sharing Stewarding if you can’t do the whole weekend. WSDA offers FREE camping to anyone that Stewards. PLEASE think about this and if you have any more questions then please contact us at secretary@westsussexda.co.uk or call Pat on 07813 107655.

Welcome to our friendly community
You’ll get a great welcome at the West Sussex District Association of The Camping & Caravanning Club. We are a very active group with 12 Meets throughout the year including our 3-week famous THS arranged for 2026 and many more Meets already planned for 2027.
West Sussex has some of the most beautiful areas in the UK and we are so lucky to be able to arrange our weekend Meets in the beautiful South Downs and surrounding areas. If your idea of a weekend camping is to just sit and relax or to maybe join in the fun with like-minded campers, you’ll be made very welcome.

Our THS (Temporary Holiday Site)
2026 - this year our THS at Lancing College, West Sussex will be held from 31st July to 23rd August. The meet runs for 3 weeks and is jam packed with fun and entertainment. Of course, there’s always the opportunity to just enjoy the peace and quiet but there’s no pressure, we welcome all members.

Join The Camping and Caravanning Club today to benefit from over 100 years of expertise as well as specially selected discounts tailored to our members. As soon as you are a member you will be assigned to a District Association (DA). This will be the closest DA to where you live and shown on your membership card. You are then free to go camping with any of the 93 DA's over 13 Regions in the UK.
