MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF OUR FOLLOWERS
As 2025 comes to a close, we're looking back with huge smiles at all the adventures we have shared. Muddy hikes that turned into laughter-filled stories, afternoon gatherings with tea & cakes, often leading into GnT's and Prosecco glasses chinking - those memorable Meets where friendships grew stronger and new friends were made, It was always "5 O'Clock somewhere in the World !" you would hear being said ! This year has been one for the books.
Highlights of 2025 - From the first Meet , the season kicked off very enthusiastically with everyone very keen to get out camping. Wild Heart Hill, Findon was filled to capacity on a beautiful weekend in April. Swiftly followed by our very well attended AGM at Clapham village hall. A fabulous turn out, with a very encouraging attendance with four members volunteering to join our Committee Team. I would like to thank you all for your great show of support to keeping your DA running.
We visited a few new area's and sites this year, but for me, the highlight of the year had to be the summer THS at Lancing College. Celebrating an incredible 40th anniversary of this well known Holiday Meet. A lot of pre-planning had gone on prior to the opening of this event and your Stewards and Committee did a fantastic job in making it a most memorable time for the hundreds of campers that passed through our very smart new wooden gates.
There was a fabulous range of live entertainment arranged every weekend in our marquee's, including a, Folk/Rock Band - ABBA tribute - a Father & Son Duo all the way from Bournemouth - Karaoke - Arts & Crafts - CPR Training - Chris's Bingo Sessions of course, with the main event being the Anniversary Pimms & wonderful cakes afternoon, followed by The Last Night at the Proms Evening with the Club Silver Band !! Oh what fun was had by all, dressing up for the 80's Abba Night followed by the flag waving and the red/white/blue costumes for the Proms. The weather for once was amazing for the entire duration of the Meet, Excellent. Great memories to cherish of a venue that is very dear to mine and Chris's hearts as we have been camping there since 1989 when our children were very young.
Thank you to those that gave of their time to Steward a weekend Meet for us and of course please consider putting your name down for a weekend in 2026. It is a great help to us.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone that has helped and supported me during the past year as I couldn't do it without you.
So heres to more adventures, more stories, and more camping magic in 2026.

Welcome to our friendly community
You’ll get a great welcome at the West Sussex District Association of The Camping & Caravanning Club. We are a very active group with 12 Meets throughout the year including our 3-week famous THS arranged for 2026 and many more Meets already planned for 2027.
West Sussex has some of the most beautiful areas in the UK and we are so lucky to be able to arrange our weekend Meets in the beautiful South Downs and surrounding areas. If your idea of a weekend camping is to just sit and relax or to maybe join in the fun with like-minded campers, you’ll be made very welcome.

Our THS (Temporary Holiday Site)
2026 - this year our THS at Lancing College, West Sussex will be held from 31st July to 23rd August. The meet runs for 3 weeks and is jam packed with fun and entertainment. Of course, there’s always the opportunity to just enjoy the peace and quiet but there’s no pressure, we welcome all members.

Not a member? Join the club today...
Join The Camping and Caravanning Club today to benefit from over 100 years of expertise as well as specially selected discounts tailored to our members. As soon as you are a member you will be assigned to a District Association (DA). This will be the closest DA to where you live and shown on your membership card. You are then free to go camping with any of the 93 DA's over 13 Regions in the UK.
